This Thanksgiving we decided to bribe our kids to come home for the holiday. So we served them steak and lobster. We all sat down and we served as we cooked it. Everyone had a good time including the cat the the two smoking deliquents. Everything turned out wonderful and we had the greatest time together as a family, as the pictures would indicate.
We met a new neighbor who collects golf balls from the course that have gone astray and sells them in dozen egg crates for $5:00 a dozen. I bought 4 dozen and he gave me 2 dozen free. I let him know that he might get some back tomorrow. What a putter. it was the best part of my game this week. Our realtor, Rachel Hogan and her first baby boy, Braden. Pat had to finish a job so could not meet us for lunch. Virginia Tech's Hokie bird mascot. The inn keeper Joyce and her niece at breakfast.
A dead millipeed on the trail. Bridge across the stream. Big leaves are a new site compared to California mountain trails. We went to church this morning. The pastor is a retired methodits that was asked by the church to consider being it's pastor and now he has been there a number of years. He is a really good expositor preacher and loves the folks there and they love him. We met our neighbors and talked economy, (most folks here a very conservative) housing market, someone to mow our property so it does not get out of hand, & she has a great doll collection. They are Ron and Charlotte. They tell me the man that lives across the street form the golf course collects golf balls, catogorizes them and stores them in egg crates to sell as used if you just knock on his door. So guess who will be knocking on his door today. We hiked the trail to the Cascade falls next and did not quite get to the top before out tee time and had to turn back. We went golfing at 5:00 pm and finished by 8:00 with an hour of daylight left.
Big big plants at the fifth tee. The fifth tee. Trees along the course. There was a wedding at the Bed & Breakfast. The bride anxiously looking to see if it is her turn to shine.

We stopped at a Cracker Barrel to get some things for Karens kids and they had tons of Tennessee Gator stuff. Outside was this cherry mustang. Beautiful downtown Pembroke. First site of Castle Rock golf course in Pembroke. 6 days of golfing here. Cheese and wine on the first evening at Maison Believaue. Is Chris really bird watching? We found these girls, two of which are the assistant pastors daughters, selling lemonade and cookies. Of course we had to buy some. Hole #1 at Castle Rock. I had to get a haircut and we found this typical hair salon in Pearisburg.
Sorry there are no videos until we get back as the internet is pretty slow here.
